Collin, a former star of Jon & Kate Plus 8, comes out about his childhood and discusses how his connection with his mother was damaged as a result of his participation in the reality program.
Collin Gosselin, star of the reality TV program Jon and Kate Plus 8, did not pull any punches when he candidly disclosed that the series nearly ripped his family apart and damaged his ties with his mother, Kate Gosselin.
Collin Gosselin Gosselin is among the sextuplets that Jon and Kate Gosselin had together. When the former couple broadcasted the daily activities of their sextuplets on television, they became famous in the public eye. This spans the first 10 years of their life, beginning with the time they were born.
Collin spoke out about his childhood in an interview that was conducted exclusively for ET. He discussed how appearing on Jon and Kate Plus 8 drove a wedge between his family members. “I want to believe it was because of TV and what being in the public eye does to a family. I think it tore us apart,” the reality star who was just 18 years old claimed.
Collin continued by saying that since his family was on the program, they were forced to spend additional time in the spotlight and less time altogether as a unit than they would have liked.
Because he was yet a youngster during the time that the program was on the air (from 2007 to 2017), the effects of not having a strong connection with his family were very difficult for him to deal with.
Aside from the stress of being on television, the former cast member of Jon and Kate Plus 8 said that his connection with his mother has been broken for a very long time.
Nevertheless, things became far worse when his mother placed him in a facility that she said would assist him in overcoming the purported behavioral challenges he had.
The “Door” to Reconciliation Between Collin and Kate Gosselin Is Open
Collin seems to be dissatisfied with the connection he maintains with his mother, despite the fact that he now resides with his father, Jon. He stated, “It’s unfortunate that we didn’t have a relationship,” stating that he would have wanted to have developed a connection with his mother.
On the other hand, he said that he was feeling completely fine. Collin’s goals for his family include maintaining healthy relationships not just with Kate but also with his other children.
Collin had a favorable reaction when he was questioned whether he would always be open to having a connection with his mother. He said that he believed it would be best for the two of them to make up.
Collin’s childhood was not exactly one filled with joy and laughter. Nevertheless, the majority of his outlook is still optimistic, in spite of the obstacles and problems that he has experienced.
As a consequence of this, the only messages he shares are ones of optimism and love. Collin is of the opinion that experiencing difficulties in one’s life is almost unavoidable.
As said by him, wallowing in misery over one’s predicament would not result in the disappearance of the issue.
As a result of his personal experiences, he is certain that maintaining a positive attitude and being resilient is the most effective strategy for overcoming the difficulties that are inevitable in life.
Despite the fact that Collin’s parents, Jon and Kate, divorced in 2009, Jon was awarded complete custody of Collin in December 2018 when Kate and her legal counsel did not appear at a hearing.
The former star of Jon and Kate Plus 8 did not have a typical connection with his mother when he was a youngster, and this experience taught him some valuable lessons.
Instead of disliking his mother, he came to the conclusion that she was working for something.
Collin’s objective is to extricate himself from the predicament he finds himself in as a teenager, despite the fact that he is unaware of Kate’s plans in this regard.
At such a little age, Collin has already shown a remarkable degree of accountability, hope, and resiliency, and this is something to be admired.
