One Piece On NETFLIX Will Include Original ANIME Characters (DETAILS)

Matt Owens, the showrunner for the One Piece live-action version on Netflix, has given fans his word that the characters will remain true to their depictions in the original manga and anime.

The new One Piece adaptation that will be available on Netflix will, according to the showrunner, be faithful to the characters from the manga and anime.

The process of translating anime into live-action has never been without its challenges. Because of the unique characteristics of anime, it might be challenging to attempt to translate the images and characters from one medium to another.

On the other hand, previous versions have been known to deviate from the original source material in such a glaring way that they ended up being excessively dissimilar to the original.

Instances such as Dragonball Evolution, which ditched the fantastical components in favor of a gloomy and uninteresting environment, and Death Note, which made too many attempts to alter the primary character’s reasons for doing what they do are two prominent examples of this trend.

Beginning with the actors, Netflix is trying to make an effort with One Piece to differentiate itself from previous adaptations of unsuccessful properties.

Owens has informed Nux Taku of his intention to maintain the character’s resemblance to the source material to the greatest extent feasible.

People are excited to find out how their favorite characters from One Piece will be portrayed on film since the casting has previously been praised for accurately portraying the characters’ ethnic features while staying true to Eiichiro Oda’s original vision of how they should look.

You can read the complete quote down below:

“The Straw Hats if you want to qualify their relationships in any way, are all siblings. It’s a family. There’s no romance between Straw Hats.”

Without Characters Melodramas, One Piece Is More Impressive

Oda has said in the past that he sees the Straw Hat Pirates of One Piece as a family, even to the extent of the name of who is the official head of the family and who is the appointed mother, father, child, etc.

Nevertheless, Sanji is notorious for his flirty behavior with women, especially Nami and Robin, other women on the team. This is especially true of Sanji’s interactions with Nami and Robin.

Owens stated that although the Sanji character in the Netflix adaptation of One Piece would maintain his devotion to women, he isn’t going to be as overbearing or lecherous towards them as he had been in the anime and manga due to the fact that for understandable purposes, this is not acceptable.

Owens is doing the right thing by limiting the Straw Hats to the role of a family unit. Although there have been hints of and actual depictions of romance in One Piece, the romantic subplots are often either glossed over or played for humorous effect.

Oda’s response to the question of how many of the Straw Hats were romantically involved with somebody was merely that they enjoy excitement above all else.

Owens knows this concept better than anyone else does since he is a fan of the One Piece series. The story has always been about a bunch of outcasts who get together to create a family in order to search for the biggest treasure in the entire world.

Owens’s pledges have elevated One Piece’s status as one of the most awaited ventures on the road, despite the fact that there remains little time left until Netflix makes the show available to the general public.

Even if there is currently minor critique online over small aspects or adjustments, the bulk of the material that has been released thus far provides optimism that perhaps the upcoming series will delight both die-hard fans of the franchise and novices to the series.

In the wake of the setback it had with Cowboy Bebop, Netflix has a chance to make up with fans of the anime genre with its version of One Piece.
