Will MICHAEL WEATHERLY Return As DiNozzo In NCIS (LATEST NEWS!!!)

Michael Weatherly has shown the desire to return to his character as “Very Special Agent” Tony DiNozzo on NCIS, despite the fact that he has been absent from the serial for a number of years.

Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo, has said that he would be interested in coming back to NCIS.

The first episode of what is now considered one of the most popular shows ever produced by the network aired in 2003, making it the third-longest lasting scripted live-action program on broadcast tv.

In light of the fact that the program has a long and illustrious history, NCIS has been subjected to more than its share of cast changes throughout the course of its run, with a number of its most important characters choosing to leave the program.

Even before Mark Harmon stepped down from his role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, DiNozzo, who served as Gibbs’ right-hand man, quit the squad at the conclusion of season 13 so that he could focus on parenting his newly found daughter.

It is arguable that Weatherly’s departure from NCIS in season 13 was one of the most significant ones on the show since he was a fan favorite. It created a significant hole in the police procedural, but CBS was smart enough not to look for somebody who might take his place. Rather, the network moved ahead with plots that made just passing allusions to him.

Nevertheless, despite the passage of time since his departure, it would appear that Weatherly is prepared to reprise what might be considered his most famous part, as he hints in a brand-new message on social networks.

In his tweet, he nonchalantly mentions the possibility that he could be interested in playing “another round of DiNozzo at some time.” Below is the entire text of Weatherly’s post:

Will DiNozzo Actually Come back To NCIS?

Earlier before Weatherly’s post on the social network, his former co-star Sean Murray had tweeted a picture from an older episode of NCIS featuring Timothy McGee and Anthony DiNozzo.

This raises the possibility that CBS is planning some kind of surprise get-together for the characters, which would be an appropriate twist for the upcoming season 20 of NCIS.

To provide some background, when Weatherly left the police procedural, it was to take the lead role in his own courtroom drama titled Bull, which has now come to an end. It would seem that now is the ideal moment to reintroduce the “Very Special Agent,” taking into consideration all of these criteria.

Loyal viewers of NCIS would be in for a rare treat if Weatherly were to reprise his role as DiNozzo because he hasn’t appeared in any guest roles ever since he left the show at the conclusion of season 13, and the show hasn’t had any guest stars since then.

However, in order for Gibbs and DiNozzo to have their long-awaited reunion on the show, CBS will need to find a way to acquire Harmon as well if they want to pull off a truly spectacular surprise for their audience.

It’s possible that Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva David, may also join in on the fun, considering that she and DiNozzo continued their relationship after they had both left the military.

Regardless of all of these hints, though, it would be wise for fans not to raise their hopes too high regarding Weatherly’s presence on NCIS season 20 just yet.

It is dangerous to become engaged in the notion before CBS makes an official statement about it because of the possibility that things won’t turn out in the direction they would like them to.

Still, it’s encouraging that Weatherly wants to come back to the police procedural since it bodes well for his eventual inclusion on the show.
