Godzilla vs. Kong: Who Wins? (EXPLAINED IN DETAIL!!!)

Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard, has been advertising the prospect of a clear victor in the battle between the two monsters. Here is a rundown of who prevailed and why Kong was spared.

Who will triumph between Godzilla and Kong? Although the concept of there being only one Alpha Titan is still up for debate, it can be said without a doubt that one of the MonsterVerse’s two most famous creatures was noticeably more powerful than the other.

So, who wins in Godzilla vs. Kong? Godzilla defeats Kong regardless of how well Kong fought. Godzilla didn’t kill Kong, but he left him to die. Although Kong didn’t die, Godzilla showed respect to him and gave him the opportunity to be King of the Hollow Earth in the subterranean world, and Godzilla remained the King of the Monsters.

In both Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla and Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla was portrayed as an ally and savior of mankind.

However, in Adam Wingard’s film, Godzilla is portrayed as a villain, and the tale is turned on its head as a result. On the other hand, Godzilla’s behavior throughout the film remains the same throughout.

It’s simply that the individual he’s aiming his aggression towards is also seen as a friend to mankind. The conclusion of the epic fight involving Godzilla and King Kong is detailed here.

In the same vein as Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the concept of Godzilla vs. Kong begged for a clear victor, which resulted in an extremely high level of anticipation before the film’s release. Godzilla vs. Kong was released on May 31, 2017.

But in the same vein as the events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, it is clear that the MonsterVerse series is unable to eliminate either of its 2 main characters as a result of the conflict.

Other elements, like Monarch, Mechagodzilla, and the human characters, contributed to the formation of the film’s various battles and assisted determine which of the titans would emerge victorious in the battle between Godzilla and Kong.

This was accomplished without casting either titan in a negative light.

During Monarch’s travel to their base in Antarctica, the first battle between Godzilla and King Kong in the MonsterVerse takes place in the midst of the ocean.

Even though Monarch had moved to tremendous measures to avoid Godzilla’s mapped pathways, the beast was still able to find them and battled Kong because he saw the Skull Island Titan to be a danger to his position as the dominant species.

The peace barely lasted until Kong took up his ax and charged it down into the Hollow Earth after Godzilla had defeated Kong in that fight and thought that Kong was no longer a danger to him. Godzilla then fled the scene.

Who Will Come Out on Top: Godzilla or Kong?

Godzilla prevailed over Kong in their 2nd and last bout, which took place in Hong Kong, despite the fact that Dr. Nathan Lind first thought Kong had won the second round of their battle.

Kong showed a tremendous deal of ability in avoiding Godzilla’s atomic breath assaults; yet, in the finish, the blast generated by the ax could only momentarily throw Godzilla off his game; it was not enough to kill him.

Due to Kong’s injuries and Godzilla’s near-invincibility, in addition to his capacity to replenish his energy by absorbing radiation, Godzilla was able to come back and defeat Kong. This outcome was logically predictable.

But instead of killing him as he did with the MUTOs and Ghidorah, Godzilla first let Kong pass away from his wounds on his own.

Further on, he persuaded Kong into acknowledging him as the Alpha Titan, but Mechagodzilla thwarted his plans by throwing a “spanner” into the works.

Once King Kong assisted Godzilla to destroy Mechagodzilla, Godzilla decided to leave Kong resting just after the primate king lowered the ax.

Although Godzilla was victorious in each of the fights between King Kong and Godzilla, the ultimate winner was Godzilla.

Godzilla realized that Kong wasn’t any longer a danger to him once Kong did that, and as a result, the two monsters seemed to fully accept each other.

On the surface, Godzilla continues to reign as King of the Monsters, while beneath the underground realm, Kong has supplanted Godzilla as King of the Hollow Earth.

In this manner, it will be possible for the two of them to dwell as Alpha Titans in their own realms.

In addition, the fact that Kong came dangerously close to passing away is the lone factor that clinches victory for Godzilla.

Kong’s untimely demise may have been averted had it not been for Dr. Lind and the HEAVs energy pulse.

Why Godzilla Couldn’t Win Without Kong In The End?

In spite of the fact that Kong put up a terrific battle against Godzilla on two separate occasions, he was ultimately unable to prevail.

The fact that he is still victorious after seeing the film is an intriguing aspect. After being supercharged by atomic breath of Godzilla, Kong’s ax kills Mechagodzilla, which results in the defeat of a variation of Godzilla and Ghidorah working together.

But when it came to the Alpha Titan rank, Godzilla prevailed, and even though he didn’t make Kong kneel to him, Kong acknowledged the reality that he can’t win even if he didn’t expressly lose.

Godzilla was the victor. In the end, it was a triumph for Godzilla in terms of the theme.

During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit to promote Godzilla vs. Kong, director Adam Wingard offered his opinion on who he believed to be the undisputed winner of the film “Godzilla def won. He killed Kong. Kong was brought back to life.”

In my opinion, the fight with the Mecha takes place in another realm. Godzilla may have won the battle, but Kong “took home the Oscar for best actor in a motion picture.” It should come as no surprise that Wingard thinks Godzilla will emerge victorious.

After all, ever since the MonsterVerse was created, Godzilla has always been the most prominent character in it.

Naturally, now that Kong is so close to achieving his goal of becoming “King Kong,” his future looks promising; nevertheless, if the world desperately requires a force of nature to defend it, Godzilla is the only genuine Titan who will be able to live up to the challenge.

The Final Battle of Godzilla vs. King Kong and How It Prepares Us For The Follow-Up

The ending of the ultimate fight between Godzilla and Kong is Kong seizing control of the Hollow Earth while Godzilla conquers the surface of the planet. This establishes numerous significant plot points for the subsequent sequel.

The decisive showdown between Godzilla and King Kong fundamentally shifted the power equilibrium between the 2 monsters. Both of the MonsterVerse characters have been granted their own domain, thus it would seem that the rivalry between them has been settled.

Titanus Doug is the most recent monster to be announced for the next Godzilla vs. Kong sequel, which is currently under production.

The series would be doing itself a disservice if the film didn’t follow up on its nickname by including another battle between Godzilla and King Kong; however, the future film may include a team-up between the Titans since their relationship is now a part of mutual trust and respect.

Titanus Doug, as he is affectionately known by fans, is the only extra monster that has been announced to appear in the sequel.

Since he is now relatively harmless and not very large, he probably would not call for a Gozilla and Kong crossover in the event that he turns evil.

It’s safe to say that The MonsterVerse isn’t lacking in potential dangers, but in the end, the sequel has to have at least one more showdown between the MonsterVerse’s two most famous monsters in order to live up to the illustrious Godzilla vs. Kong brand.

Kong could have a triumph under his figurative sleeve that completely takes everyone by surprise.

Final Thoughts

Godzilla vs. Kong is a pretty amazing movie, and I can definitely suggest it to everyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
